Building homes
The Dry Place Project

Every Home Here Helps Build a Home There.

We've pledged a portion of every True Cost Homes project to providing safe, dry housing for families in need in Haiti — because everyone deserves a dry, safe place to call home.

Our Pledge

A portion of every build goes to Haiti.

For every home we build in America, a portion of our proceeds funds safe, permanent housing for a family in Haiti who has never had a dry roof over their head.

It's not a marketing campaign. It's a commitment rooted in four years of our family's life lived alongside the people of Haiti.

Our Story

Four years that changed everything.

A hillside village in Haiti

Before True Cost Homes existed, our founder moved to Haiti with his wife and three young children. For four years, they lived and worked in some of the most underserved communities in the country — doing orphan care, developing orphanages, and building programs designed to give children and families a real chance at a stable life.

That time changed how we see construction. We watched families raise children in structures that flooded when it rained, collapsed in storms, and offered no protection from the elements. We saw firsthand what it means when a home isn't dry, isn't safe, and isn't permanent — and we saw what happens when a family finally gets one that is.

When we came home and started building great houses here, we couldn't forget what we'd seen. We have the skills, the crew, and the opportunity to build beautiful homes for families who can afford them. But we know that millions of people will never have that opportunity — and that a safe, dry place to live shouldn't be a privilege reserved for the lucky.

So we made a pledge: True Cost Homes would give back. Not someday. Not when we got bigger. From the very first project.

Why Haiti

A need we understand personally.

A housing crisis most people never see

Haiti has faced decades of natural disasters, political instability, and extreme poverty. Millions live in homes that flood, leak, or collapse — many with no path to something better.

We've been there

This isn't a cause we adopted from a distance. Our family lived it. We know the communities, the needs, and the partners doing real work on the ground.

Housing changes everything

A dry, safe home improves health, education, safety, and dignity for an entire family — for generations. It's the most foundational thing we can build.

It's what we know how to do

We're builders. The most meaningful way for us to give back isn't a donation jar — it's using what we do best to put roofs over heads.

How It Works

From your home to theirs.

01

You build with us

Every True Cost Homes project — a new build, a remodel, or a home upgrade — contributes to the pledge.

02

A portion is set aside

A defined portion of our proceeds from your project is dedicated to The Dry Place Project fund.

03

We partner on the ground

We work with vetted organizations and local builders in Haiti to construct safe, permanent homes for families in need.

04

A family gets a dry, safe home

Your project here directly helps a family there move into a home that protects them — often for the first time.

The Bigger Picture

One roof at a time.

Building a new home wall in Haiti

We don't pretend to solve a country's housing crisis. But we believe that building one safe, dry home for one family at a time is real, measurable, and lasting. Every project you complete with True Cost Homes moves that work forward — and as we grow, so does the number of families who go to sleep tonight under a roof that holds.

Built here. Felt there.
